Purpose: The MenuOfPicture form allows a popup menu or an application menu to display a palette made from a picture of your choosing.

Usage: You will make the menu from a picture that can be divided into a regular grid of rectangles.

Set the entries of the menu to the integers from 1 to the number of rectangles in the grid.

For popups: Set the format to the name of the picture, a tab (¥t), and the number of columns you want the palette to have. If the format is empty or not a number, FaceSpan attempts to fit a rectangular grid of squares into the picture, based upon the proportions of the picture and the number of menu items.

For application menus: Set the name of the menu to the name of the picture. FaceSpan attempts to fit a rectangular grid of squares into the picture, based upon the proportions of the picture and the number of menu items.

An application menu窶冱 form property can be assigned only while the application is running; it is not retained when the application stops.

Example: The contents of a popup menu that divides a picture into a 2 by 3 palette:
